Living Proverbs 22:6

An article I read recently has pounded my heart and I want to share the first portion of it with you.

Your Position in Christ

One of the greatest gifts you can present to God is to believe, truly accept what He says about you.

Jesus resisted the devil by applying God's Word. When you are attacked, it is the knowledge and use of the Word that allows you to resist temptation. We cannot resist him by human effort. We resist him by spiritual means - by using the Word of God, being empowered by His Holy Spirit, and through prayer.

As we look at the Word, apply the Word in faith and obedience, allowing the Spirit to empower that action through prayer we can be victorious.

I Am Accepted in Christ Jesus

I am God's child (John 1:12)

I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)

I have been justified (Romans 5:1)

I am united with the Lord and one with Him in spirit (1 Cor. 6:!7)

I have been bought with a price; I belong to God (1 Cor. 6:20)

I am a member of Christ's Body (1 Cor. 12:27)

I am a saint (Eph. 1:1)

I have been adopted as God's child (Eph. 1:5)

I have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit (Eph. 2:!8)

I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins (Col. 1:!4)

I am complete in Christ (Col 2:10)

Now, personally I'm still learning this as an adult. I did not receive this as a child, but through grace, God is teaching me that I am loved unconditionally, He's not going anywhere, He is Truth and I am to stand firm on His promises and Trust Him! So, though I needed to read those words above myself (and remind myself daily of them) my thoughts went to our children. Our children need to be taught truth NOW! With all of the lies this world has to offer, what a marvelous gift we can give to them by teaching them the truth of who they are in Christ. How He loves them...who they are in Him.

I have printed this out and have started speaking these promises to my children. Speaking truth to them by name...

Trisin, you ARE a child of God!

Natalie, you have been redeemed and forgiven of all your sins!

Lola, you are complete in Christ!

Kolton, you have been bought with a price...and belong to Him!

Imagine how God will use this in their lives. How it will strengthen their footing on a solid foundation. God has entrusted us to raise them up in Him and has empowered us to do so through His mighty word and the Holy Spirit dwelling in us!

Seize the opportunity!
