Yay...Free Friday!

Happy Friday! The birds are singing and the trees are budding in the spring rain this morning! Kolton and I have spotted two different rainbows as the sun peeks through the clouds...how fun to watch his wild excitement!

I think it's how we can slow down these busy crazy days! Take time for the little things? View life as a 5yr old?

Calming the Heart

Everything has been swirling busy over the past few weeks.  By the way, did you know it was March?!  I can't believe it!

I feel like busyness gypped me from enjoying February!

This morning as I was editing some photo's, this picture grabbed me.  I love everything about it!  Those brown eyes, that messy mouth, dripping cones, crooked pirate hat, remembering the warmth of that afternoon...just sitting and enjoying the children.

Choosing to slow.

Capturing moments in time.

There are seasons in life that are calm and there are seasons that are busy.  Though all has been well...I we have been in a season of busyness.  Our family has been SO busy with so many activities and adding our newest family member, Shiloh (yes, Shiloh...not Cocoa -I'll catch you up later) adds a whole lot of time spent out at the barn.  Manure scooping is a skill that I am getting quite good at!

I've been praying this week for the busy waters to calm.  Though I love every minute of everything it's easy to feel crazy and fall behind in areas.  It's easy to start going through motions of just getting it done and missing so many blessings along the way.  It's easy to neglect your quiet time with the Lord and isn't it funny that it seems that that is the first area that slips (at least for me).

Tuesday, as I was baking chocolate chip cookies for Natalie's 4H meeting and drinking a cup of coffee...which by the way is what I think heaven will smell like -chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodle coffee- {yum!}  I just felt the Spirit speaking to my heart that maybe it's not so much the waters calming as far as activities, because with a husband, four children, teaching, and a doll ministry I don't things will be calm for long so maybe its more my heart calming?

Maybe it's simply abiding in Him and trusting that He will work out the day?

It's then that I can just lean back into Him, relax and enjoy!

I read last week in my devotional reading -and it comes back to mind today, Deuteronomy 1:31

"You saw what He did in the wilderness, how God, your God, carried you as a father carries his child, carried you the whole way until you arrived here."

I loved that!  And as Kolton climbs up in my lap and tucks in close to me, I am reminded that God simply desires the same from me.  He wants me to tuck up in close to Him.  To trust Him in each day...crazy busy or not!  How comforting to picture our heavenly Father carrying us through each moment in time!  Oh, how He loves his children!

As our new routine calms and things start to feel balanced again, I appreciate your prayers and I would feel so blessed to pray for each of you as well!

If you have a prayer request you would like to share or even an unspoken, would you please leave a comment below?  If you don't want to go into detail simply leave your first name so I can pray for you -God knows every detail!

Let's all tuck up into His lap today!

Too Cute...Tuesday!

This sweet couple ordered a lamb for their unborn baby.

During their maternity photo shoot they captured some cute shots with his scripture lamb,
announcing his name into the world -which up until that point was a secret!

How fun is that?!

Now months later...meet sweet Tanner!

Isn't he just precious!  What a blessing!
Thanks so much for sharing...I could just eat him up!  =)

Yay...Free Friday!

Meet Aiden!

What a journey he and his family have traveled over the past six months!  He is only 6 days old in the picture above and  I chose to post this picture as a reminder...God is faithful!  He has been faithful to carry Aiden through all of his surgeries to date (and I THINK he has had nine).

On Monday, he will be having another surgery- Decompression for his Chiari ll Malformation.

He needs your prayers!

So this week to enter our Giveaway I ask that you would say a prayer for him!

Would you leave a comment below to let us know you did?

To stay updated on Aiden's progress, please follow his blog or facebook page.

Would you share so the body of Christ can lift him up together?

Thank you so much!
{Winner of giveaway will be chosen on Monday!}

Journey in Hope -2012

This morning as we sat around the table,
the words and miracles of  Elisha in 2 Kings led us to 1 John 4:4.

"He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"

A wonderful reminder of the Hope we have in Him!

May our eyes be open to see God all around us today!
