_________________________________________________________

As I mentioned yesterday...it will be a big week leading up to our Christmas Cart on Friday!
So let's have another GIVEAWAY!!
How about an introduction to a new item??

Little cloth diapers for your BbB dolls!!

The initial request was made by Laura. I was making Carly a new doll and since she is now a BIG GIRL who goes potty on the big girl potty, she is all into diapering and training her doll babies. So Laura asked if I could make a couple of diapers for her doll and walla...the BbB diapers came to be! However...when my girls saw them they fell in love and insisted that they need a few for each of their dolls!

They are made from a cotton print on the outside and lined with muslin. Velcro closures are sewn on each side for (many a changes) durability! This product have been tried and tested with the best results from our very own personal product testers...Carly, Lola and Natalie!!

They love them! I think they turned out pretty darn cute myself.

SO...the giveaway is for a set of three cloth diapers for your BbB doll!

To enter, please leave your contact information under THIS POST.

The winner will be chosen on Christmas Cart Friday!!

Living Proverbs 22:6

"Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it"
Proverbs 22:6

train
vb \'tran\
1a: to form by instruction, discipline, or drill
b: to teach so as to make fit, qualified, or proficient
2: to make prepared (as by exercise) for a test of skill

train-er n \'tra-ner\
1: one that trains
2: one used in training

train-ing n \'trai-nin\
1a: the act, process, or method of one that trains
b: the skill, knowledge, or experience acquired by the one that trains
2: the state of being trained

As I was sitting down to start this post, the word train stuck out at me. I read the New American Standard translation of the Bible and it reads (obviously), to TRAIN UP A CHILD...so I looked up the definition of train in the dictionary. In my Bible concordance the word train is defined to guide, instruct.

I know that it takes a lot of time and discipline to train for a worldly event. The same is true to get to our eternal event. It takes a lot of time and discipline both mentally and physically to be trained and conformed into who and what the Lord wants us to be. He wants to use us to the fullest...and He can only do that when we are training in Him everyday...taking the time and being disciplined enough to make the choice to continue our training.

We should feel very blessed to have the opportunity to train up our children. I have thought several times that my children are further ahead than I was at their age not being raised in a Christian home. Yes we went to Sunday school every week...but that was the extent of any training or seeds being planted. I struggled...trying to find my way and purpose in the world. I had that void which I filled with everything but Christ. A lot of mistakes and poor choices were made that I pray we can teach our children to avoid because we now know truth when then, we didn't. Does this mean that our children won't stray into the world?? No, but God's word says that even when he is old he won't depart from it...and I trust in that. God always holds up to what He says and I'm going to do my very best (in and through Him) holding up my end. I always think about that time of standing before Him and giving an account of my life which includes training our children....I pray and desire to hear those words "Well done, good and faithful servant" Wow..I've got a lot of hard work ahead of me, but bring it on!! =) It will be sooo worth it!

Ponder and seek with me this week. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal himself and meet you. Ponder what it means to train, to be the trainer and what you are using for your training. God is so good and so faithful to answer...we just need to be still and open enough to hear Him!

Lord, we praise you!

We pray for Baby be Blessed as a whole ministry, but also for each child. Lori and Denise have shared that they pray over each one as they sew and I pray for each child as I finish them. In my heart I can almost see that child squeezing their doll as I hold and pray over every single one!

Join us in praying over the children who will be receiving this next bundle of dolls...

Carly Louise, Myia Ann, Lily Grace, Layla Ann, Stella Mae, Arwen Larissa, Rebecca Anne, Grace, Lily, Adelle Marie, Tagart James, Maggie May, Benjamin Joseph, Whitaker Bryan, Gregory Michael, the family of Noah Benjamin, Maggie Elizabeth, Madeline Grace, Kensey Li, and Peyton Sterling!

Lord, we praise you for each child! We pray that you would bless these dolls and use them to plant Your seeds of truth deep within hearts! Lord, allow them to feel your love as they receive this gift from you. In Jesus name, Amen...

Living Proverbs 22:6

"Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it"
Proverbs 22:6

This morning I prayed and asked the Lord to speak to my heart what He wanted me to share with you. With every Proverbs 22:6 post, I've done this...and He answered quite quickly, but this morning I still don't have a real clear direction so we will see where the Holy Spirit takes us....HANG ON!! =)

But seriously, from the beginning the Lord simply spoke to my heart to share what He is doing in me. I do not feel I have the gift of writing, nor do I really feel that I have something inspirational always to share...but if God is leading you to share, He will give you what He wants you to speak and then He will meet and work in the hearts He desires to. Whew -that takes the pressure off!! Well...kind of...I still have to be obedient and get on here, even if I walk away with egg on my face! Boy, I'm full of it this morning! Please pray for my children today!!

So where am I in this whole journey? I don't really know! It's not my place to know where I'm at...just simply that I am walking it. Desiring to be open to the Holy Spirit daily. Allowing Him to guide and direct my every step in parenting. Like for example...(again) the no Sunday morning TV thing. I really feel in my heart that is what He was working out in my heart. But I totally agree with Natalie when she said...

Natalie said...
I too struggled with tv. It wasn't always what the kids were watching but, those commercials. When we moved into our new house the cable got disconnected from our "new start". It's been a huge blessing. I found we spend more time together and less in front of the tv. We do have a tv but we rent from netflix, so when we do watch something it's together. I do give in on Sunday mornings too. You're totally normal :) Sunday mornings Veggie Tales :) it's the trade :) I have a Tristan too, great name

The Lord has given me peace about that darn TV. Again, I'm hard on myself when I feel the Lord has told me something and then it doesn't continue to hold fast....but the Lord is always moving forward. He used the TV thing to get my attention about being aware of what is flashing before their little eyes. Last Sunday my Natalie was sick, so the whole no TV thing...again, right out the window. The enemy can use that as a stronghold on me if I let it because again, of how sensitive I am towards failing. But guess what?! In Christ...I will NEVER fail!! I choose to move forward daily in Him. I will choose to listen to truth and not in the lies that want to beat me down...

So I'm moving - moving - moving. Taking what each day brings us and prayerfully using it to the fullest. Making sure that I keep Christ my first and foremost focus and then the precious family He has given to us. What sweet gifts each one of our children are. I was checking on each of them before bed the other night and oh, how sweet they all were sleeping so soundly. As I rubbed my hand over little Kolton's head, I wondered if the Lord stands over all His children the same way. Touching us with His mighty hand and praying over us. Doesn't matter what happened earlier in the day...there's only a deep love and compassion. There really aren't words to describe it.

Some things that the Holy Spirit has convicted me on is better prayer with my children. To make sure that I pray with them daily..and not just before a meal! By doing this, we teach them to pray and the importance of prayer. Also, I'm looking for a devotional in which we can read every morning before School. As I need to get in the word daily, we need to get our children in the word daily! I desire to start them off on the right foot in the mornings before sending them off into the world....

Do you know a good devotional?
I'm giving you a shout out Samantha who said...
Your church library sounds fantastic! I wish we had one at ours.I run the childrens section at my local bookstore and I know how difficult it is to get meaningful storylines for the younger audience! If you ever need any ideas, shout out :)

How about everyone else??

Know of some good children devotionals?

Please share with us!!

Until next week, all my friends...let us continue in prayer and faithful journey of rearing up the children the Lord has given to us!!

August Raffle Item

After much pondering as to what we should raffle off this month for our Give a Blessing recipient Jonah, the decision has been officially made! Thanks to our facebook fans who gave some great ideas!! Thinking you might see a few of those in the future!!

This month it I used Laura's idea and it's pretty exciting!!

So....here's the scoop! For each dollar that you donate to Jonah, you will receive a number or chance to win. For example if you donate $5 you will receive 5 numbers or chances. Like last month, if you donate $20 or more we will double your chances! On Sept. 1st we will drop all the numbers in the pot aka random.org and pick the winner!!

(On a side note, just a reminder that all the donations go directly to Jonah and his family so you will have to forward your chipin pmt confirmation to us to be entered. Once received, Laura will send you your numbers.)

So do you want to know what you might win this month?? I thought so!!

This is a first here at BbB!! You will email us a picture of your child and I will make a doll pattern from that picture. Not only will the winner receive the very first doll made from that pattern, but it very well could be the next doll offered here at Baby be Blessed and it will be named after your child!!

Is that exciting or what??!! That Laura...she's a smart thinker!!

I also LOVED Samantha's (our friend from facebook) idea -How about a second place winner as well!!

KNEW you'd love it too!! The runner up will receive a Baby be Blessed blanket with a matching little bonus (sorry...it won't be announced until later in the month)!

Go get those numbers!!

August Give a Blessing Recipient...Jonah!

Meet Jonah Alexander Williams!

Jonah is our Give a Blessing recipient for the month of August. Jonah has Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa.

Jonah (with Mommy's help =) catches us all up on what exactly this is....
My skin is fragile like a butterfly. Only one in every two million babies born is like me with Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa (JEB). We are called butterfly children, and you must touch us with great care. My big brother, Gabe, was stillborn in April of 2008. At the time, no one knew why he died, but now we know it was EB too. His skin was like mine. Friction and pressure damage our skin causing very painful blisters. Most of my body must be bandaged 24/7 to protect me from damage and to help damaged skin heal. It usually takes at least two hours nightly for my Mommy and Daddy to remove old bandages, bathe me, lance my new blisters, cover me with Aquaphor, and re-bandage me.I was born on February 27, 2009, and now I’m at home with my Mommy and Daddy after spending my first 32 days of life in the NICU. It takes more than four hands to take care of me and lots of bandages, Aquaphor, and other medical supplies. I can't wear most of the clothes my Mommy has for me because they will damage my skin. I can't handle tags, seams, elastic or anything that’s not extra soft. Even most diapers are a problem for me.Many babies who have JEB don't make it through their first year. I plan to be one of the exceptions. It will not be easy, and I will need lots of help. The painful blisters will never stop showing up and will take time to heal. I will also have hair, nail and major teeth issues as well as possible respiratory problems over time. Sometimes eating is a problem because blisters are also on the inside. Most people, including doctors and medical professionals, don't know about EB. For me, and others like me, to find a cure, this must change. My care is expensive and finding a cure is expensive. Solutions begin with awareness. I need your love and prayers as do other children and adults fighting to live with EB. We also need your support not only for our everyday needs, but for a cure.

Please join us in supporting this family! How??? Glad you asked!! =)

SEEK GOD ON HOW HE WANTS YOU TO HELP!!
~PRAY!
~Visit their website and let them know you are praying!
~DONATE!
~SPREAD THE WORD!! -Grab Jonah's button and/or chipin widget and place it on
your site!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about little Jonah!

We pray that God uses this month to His glory!!

~Tina

*There will be a BbB raffle or giveaway this month attached to this. Just haven't completely received clear direction on what that will be yet.... Rest assured however that you will be blessed to give! So again this month, for every dollar donated to little Jonah will equal one chance towards winning the goods!! Simply forward us your pmt confirmation to receive your numbers and we will pick the winner Sept. 1, 2009.

I'll let you know when we decide what those "goods" will be!! =) Thanks everyone!!
