A too cute re-post from 2010

Wanted to thank you again for Addy's beautiful doll. She loves it so much and everytime she see's it she just grins from ear to ear. She has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1, therefore she can not move so when I put her doll in her arms she gets so excited. Thank you for making something so special that my little princess just adores! I sent you a few pictures the day we received it but I thought I'd share with you two more (we had her pictures taken and of course "Baby" had to be in some of them!

Rotten Milk

Yep, rotten milk.
It's what our dishes smelled like after two cycles through the dishwasher.

I'm not sure why and I'm not sure how but something for sure isn't right!

I have washed dishes almost my whole life.  Before I was even tall enough to reach, I washed them from a stool that stood in front of our Grandmother's stainless steel sink, bubbles dripping off the elbow.  Every night after supper I dropped the stopper into place and ran the water warm... little sister and I side by side.

My children have never known this.  Well until now...

The two youngest worked together sharing the sink.   The yellow rubber gloves, time, splashes onto the hardwood floor + lots of conversation.

 Memories being made.

I sure hope the dishwasher gets fixed soon but until then we will gather over bubbles in the sink.

Guilty.

A photo from July 2011.  Popsicle CHEERS!

I am so guilty.

I coddle, overprotect and try to control circumstances.

I can't stand to see my children hurt.

I've buckled, given in to tears, swayed from what was right and given into emotion.

Since the day that they were born, I've done this.  Guilty!

Lately the Lord has shown me more and more how I do this without even realizing.
I THINK I am protecting.  But in reality...I'm preventing.

Preventing growth and preventing trust in the Lord.

When we pray for our children, we ask that the Lord would draw them close.  That they would abide in Him and surrender their lives to His will.  But it seems that I can take those opportunities for growth and turn them around into opportunities to baby their (and my) emotions instead.

It is through the hurt, pain, and discomfort that we grow in faith.

Not too long ago (after I buckled under a situation) the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart.
This is what I wrote in my journal that day:

--Tina.  It's okay (and good) to push your children out of their comfort zone.  If not, they will stand still and not grow.  You are pushing them within safe boundaries. --

Since that moment I catch myself when I start to coddle.  Instead I am trying to change my perspective and observe how God will use that situation in their lives.  I'm trying to point them to God instead of defending and protecting their emotions.  We are choosing to trust.   We are excited to see how He will work!

After all.. "we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."  Romans 8:28, NIV.   Right???

I heard a reminder on the radio last week.  "Either God IS or He isn't".

I believe that He is.  xo

too cute tuesday!

Before my oldest daughter was born I heard about your dolls via Angie Smith's blog and got great delight in ordering my daughter's first baby doll from y'all.  When I found out I was expecting another daughter I wanted to order her first baby doll from you too.  I ordered matching dresses so that both girls dolls could match and ordered my son a lion for himself.  The big kids love their dolls and sleep with them.  I love that I can constantly read them the verses that we selected for their tummy's to always remind them of God's word.
Thanks!
Jennifer
PS I've blogged about them here:http://talesofapeanut.com/2014/04/babys-for-my-babies.html

too cute tuesday!

Our daughter is the happy owner of two BbB dolls so I knew when we adopted our newest babe that he, too, would have his own. He loves dolls, people, sports players that are "brown like me" so I knew he would love having his own lovie with beautiful brown skin. He showed up on our doorstep today. Thank you, thank you! Be blessed!! --Jen

Calling all CUTENESS! {I know you've got it!}

We have been collecting Tuesday CUTENESS since 2008!!

I cherish every single photo and story that you send in!!  It's my peek into the other side...a glimpse of how God is using these dolls in your everyday life.  Too Cute Tuesday is more than a blog post, it's sharing blessings and the journey that God has given to each of you!

After {kind of} taking a year or so break here on the blog, I don't feel like God desires it to go away.  I feel that it is a beautiful place to share.  Facebook has it's perks.   I love the simplicity of just a quick update and the outreach...but isn't that how everything is heading these days?  Quick, easy but not a lot of real meaning? So for now the blog will hang around a little longer and my prayer is that I use it to bring glory to God.

With all of that said....let's revamp Too Cute Tuesdays!

Send in your photo's!

Share your stories!

Let's hear how God is working in your life!!

>>The only requirement is that you include a Baby be Blessed doll in your photo.

Use your imagination!  Have Fun!!

YOU are a blessing to me!

Happy Friday!

Did you have a fantastic week?
Mine was spent digging through the past few weeks of neglect.  It looked like someone picked up our house, shook it and then set it back down!  Vacation and Fair are nothing but beautiful memories now.  xo

On Monday morning, I really took some quiet time to reflect over the past month.  It was just (once again) too busy and I don't know how we can avoid seasons of that.  But there were things I was neglecting that effected everything else.

Alone time with God.

Closet time Prayer

Time spent in His Word.

So though I am slowly getting back on track with family, housework and dolls....more than anything else I praise God for my quiet morning moments with Him.  To be filled up once again before the busy day sets in.
