Okay...so this is personal.

This is my sister Michelle.  She is four years younger than me.  I don't have a single childhood memory without her in it.  We are close and I love her with everything in me!

She has helped quite a bit over the past years with Baby be Blessed.  Mostly she has cut, sewn and stuffed lots of those arms and legs you have on those babies of yours!

On March 9, 2014 she lost her husband Rick in a tragic accident.  He was 36 years old.  Together they have six children.

As you can imagine things have been hard.

I don't even have the words to put here to share how something like this feels, it's awful!  To see someone you love so much, hurt...and there is nothing that can make it better.  It's heartbreaking.  I praise God that we have Hope through Jesus Christ!! All I could think of is that God WILL USE THIS FOR GOOD....He promises!  We don't understand.  We don't feel that it is fair, but we TRUST in the One who allows us to take another breath and then the next...and that is how Michelle is working through this whole thing, one hard step at a time....

Please pray over my sister and these sweet children who mourn the loss of a husband and father.

Rick did not have life insurance and we have set up a fundraiser (link in the left sidebar) to help pay for funeral expenses.  I hesitated to share...I've never asked you to give to something so personal before, and please don't feel obligated.  I just felt the Lord say that it was okay to share here with you, so thank you for listening!

Above all else, please pray.

Throwback Thursday

 --a repost from September 26, 2011

Lori, Tina and Michelle

We had the honor, privilege and blessing to volunteer for Show Hope at Steven Curtis Chapman's concert last night!

Natalie (Tina's), Haylie (Michelle's) and Naomi (Lori's)
We were even able to bring our helpers!

We met wonderful new friends!

One of the most wonderful things about volunteering is meeting those who have been touched by God through Show Hope!  Most of who volunteered have received a grant!

One couple shared that they just received their grant last week!!
The JOY in their faces!!

I also met little Lucy!  She is the sweetest {and so is her Mama}!

It's hard to process all of the wonderful stories, people and the experience of volunteering.
My heart is so full...but one word keeps coming back to my mind and that is FAITHFUL

 God is so very Faithful!

Mixing up the batter....

We've had two Birthday Boys in the house over the past week!

The now 15 year old doesn't appreciate his photo here on the web anymore...but this sweet 7 year old Ninja Turtle doesn't mind!  It's always bittersweet...they are growing into fine young men but a little too quickly for my heart it seems sometimes.

One thing that I am ready for is SPRING and it's right around the corner --YAY!
