Words of Wisdom

The plans of the heart belong to man,

But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.

All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight,

But the LORD weighs the motives.

Commit your works to the LORD

And your plans will be established.

The LORD has made everything for its own purpose,

Even the wicked for the day of evil.

Proverbs 16: 1-4

(vs.1)Man may make plans, but the execution of them, which becomes explicit in speech, fulfills God's designs. (vs.2) motives = moral character or disposition. (vs3)Roll your burdens on the Lord; although they may cause you anxiety, they are not too great for Him. (vs4) for its own purpose = or for its and His own purpose, including the wicked for their day of judgement.
