Yay...FINALLY... Another FREE FRIDAY!!

"For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." Jer.29:11

You know, we have used this verse on our dolls from the beginning but when I read it this morning...my heart has been stretched to receive it totally different than how I have before.

Today's giveaway in is honor of our fifth child...our Sponsor Child, Miss Dhanpriyaben Chimanbhai from India. (Can anyone tell me how to actually pronounce that?) We call her Dhani for short. I can't wait to share a picture with all of you. She is so beautiful and is the same age of my Natalie, 8 yrs old. What drew me to her, other than reminding me of Natalie, was that she was one of six children. That pulled on my heart because I felt that helping one child out of the family was helping them all in a way. We are looking forward to including letters and goodies to not only Dhani but all her brothers and sisters! Please pray about sponsoring a child.

So when I read that Jer. 29:11 and ponder on it...it has such a deeper meaning to me. We are so spoiled here in the United States. I am spoiled. I'm not saying everything is perfect, it's not. But we take for granted the blessings we have been given and live with daily!

Our Giveaway doll is 16" tall, made from dark brown muslin and black minky smooth hair with black yarn braids. She has safety eyes and handstitched mouth/lashes with a touch of blush on her cheeks! The dress is a light blue with hot pink polka dots and bloomers a hot pink/pink cotton stripe print. The torso or belly is a pink cotton print with the scripture,

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE GIVEAWAY YOU MUST:
1. Leave your comment including your contact information under this post Friday-Sunday.
2. Share one (or more) of your favorite scriptures.

~Only one entry per household.
~Winner will be chosen and announced on Monday

Wow, I would love for my kids to have all different kinds of dolls. I was following the Compassion bloggers as they were in India last week, and I was amazed and enlightened, as well as inspired. My favorite verse is either Psalm 91( all of them) or Psalm 37:4.

What a beautiful doll. She looks a little like my daughter who we adopted a year ago. When we were chosen to adopt her, the doctors told us she would not survive long enough to be adopted. As a result of a complicated open heart surgery and a miracle from God, and she is the healthiest child in our family. We clung to Jer. 29:11 during the dark hours when we didn't know if Myia would survive.

Love this doll! We get some many compliments on the doll you made for our daughter a few months ago.

I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him (1 Samuel 1:29).

Love the Lord your God with all your heart (Mt 22:37-40)
Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments

Congrats on your fifth sponsor child. I have five children with Compassion and I love the organization. My most recent child is a little girl from Peru and I've been praying and wanting her for a very long time. After sponsoring my last child, I knew that my next child would be one who'd been waiting for a sponsor for over a year. I knew I wanted her to be from Peru, as I have a real heart for that country. Last week, I saw her on the website and knew she was the child I'd been waiting for. She'd been waiting 455 days. Now I'm eagerly awaiting my child pack. Someday I hope to go on Compassion tours to my kids countries and meet some of them. If I do, I'd love to take one of your dolls down with me.

Oh my, oh my. I hope it isn't against any rules to tell you that my favourite verse is in fact the one sewn onto that beautiful doll!

It has been a favourite verse of mine since childhood and has come a daily saying for my mother also in the last week when she is puring love on baby Eve in the hospital. Long story short; cousin born at 28weeks in SCBU, next incubator along 23week gestation Eve (nurses have named her) mother very troubled and not present. My mum trying to get foster care access through her own agency for this sweet girl. Romans 15:13 has become our mantra if you will for this sweet baby girl!

Another favourite of mine is;

"Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Deuteronomy 31:6

We have family friends who were finally able to legally adopt a little girl last year after a 2 year harrowing adoption process. This little doll would be perfect for her.
My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11. I have it displayed all over my house as God has used this verse in my life many times.

Your dolls are so cute!

I love the whole book of James, and one of my favorite verses is James 5:15-16.

"And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effect, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
