Living Proverbs 22:6

"Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it"
Proverbs 22:6
Right out the window....
You know, some days just seem to start off wrong. You roll out of bed late, try to hurry and shuffle your kids up...hit your toe on the doorway, dropping everything on the floor...stuff hitting you in the face from the cupboard. Hurry - Hurry!! Grump, grump, grump!! I can't find my shoes...WHAT?! Why didn't you put them away...the bus is coming!!

We've all had mornings/days like this right?! Man...I know we've had more than I would like to admit. But lately, the Holy Spirit has been grabbing me in those moments (Praise God for that!). It will surly start off with a sharp word towards my kids and/or a poor attitude...but oh how HE reminds me of His truth and grace. To step back and look at the whole picture, not just the one that is literally hitting me in the face! =)

How are you presenting yourself? Are you those words you proclaim or teach them?? Wow...a daily moment by moment struggle at times. We are the greatest witness and testimony of Christ to our children. Only if we are walking closely in a relationship with our Father can we live that out in front of our children.

So how is today? Have you had a morning and already thrown your day out the window?? How are you viewing and living out this day, this gift that the Lord has allowed. Are you trashing it with your attitude or are you using it wisely for Him. Are you laying down your day for Him...your life for Him?? Our natural actions are so opposite of God's.

Even though we are Christians we still will battle with the flesh...the sin we were born into. God can prevail over that but only if we allow Him to work. Making the choice to submit to the Father's will for today. Does that mean the day will go smoothly and we will have no worries...ABSOLUTELY NOT. But viewing what this day brings us through the view of the Father makes it much easier. He gives us all the tools we need to live out each day through His word.

But it is our responsibility to get in that word and apply it...to live it!

"How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers." Psalm 1:1-3

Oh, how God has been speaking to me through this verse!

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
Such a great verse - thank you for the reminder of our everyday trials that sometime defeat us but we can turn to God for the victory.
I have a quote to share that means alot to me for this time in my life when so many things seem to be up in the air (I suppose those issues are closer to God "up in the air") -
God, who foresaw your tribulation, has specially armed you to go through it, not without pain but without stain. --- CS Lewis

John 14:27

and

'He has made everything beautiful in its time'
- Ecclesiastes 3:11

Thank you Divine Mrs. D... the verses you left as your own, speak to me! I have been learning patience lately, but what a great reminder that in the midst of all the patience, Christ gives me His peace!

'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.'

Another verse I just learned this week is
Psalm 90:12 "Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom"...I am praying that verse this week!

Thank you Tina, such wonderful verses to think about. Most of them I know from memory. I find encouragement quoting them especially when I am struggling.

Isaiah 40:31
Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
Reminds me of a Galatians 6:9
And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.

Life can be discouraging and at times we can find ourselves growing weary. It is in those times that we need to be reminded of God's word.
Hiding his word in our hearts and teaching our children to do the same is the greatest gift we can give to encouraging spiritual growth.
Keeping my eyes on Him,
Crystal
